Visitors to Canada Emergency Hospital/Medical Insurance


Applicant must:
Be over 15 days old and not over age 85

Be a visitor to Canada, an immigrant to Canada, or a returning Canadian who is not covered by a provincial or territorial government health insurance plan

Have not exceeded two years of uninterrupted coverage under a Allianz insurance plan.


Choice of Policy maximum based on your needs
From $10,000 up to $150,000 CAD

Standard deductible per person per claim: $0

Maximum period of coverage: 365days

Minimum premium: $20 per person

Worldwide travel coverage
Provided the majority (51%) of your period of coverage is spent in Canada except the country of origin

Pre-existing condition
Medical questionnaire is required in order to cover pre-existing condition
Pre-existing conditions are covered if stable in the 90 days (age 59 or younger)  prior to the effective date 

Waiting period
For policy purchased prior to your arrival in Canada: waived 

For policy purchased after your arrival in Canada: 48 hours from the effective date of the policy for Emergency Sickness


Hospital confinement
Up to the sum insured purchased for emergency hospitalization (semi-private) and the following emergency services 
a) Physicians or surgeons, anesthetists and registered graduate nurse

b) Physiotherapist services when ordered by a physician

c) Chiropractic services 

d) Lab tests and X-ray examinations ordered by a physician

e) Licensed local air, land, or sea ambulance (including mountain or sea evacuation), when necessary, to the nearest hospital

f) Rental of crutches or hospital-type bed; and the cost of splints, trusses, braces or other prosthetics

g) Emergency out-patient hospital services

h) Prescription drugs or medicines, one-month’s supply

Return of deceased
In the event of death, up to $10,000 CAD is provided to return your body home, or up to $4,000 CAD for cremation or burial at the place of death

Accidental dental
Up to $4,000 CAD for repair or replacement of whole or sound natural teeth caused by an accidental blow to the face

Dental emergencies
Up to $500 CAD for the immediate relief of acute dental pain, other than provided under Accidental Dental 

Act of terrorism
If you sustain a loss from an act of terrorism that is otherwise covered under this plan, we will pay up to an aggregate limit of $2.5 million for one or a series of such acts and up to $5 million for all such acts in a calendar year involving all Allianz-issued policies. Terrorism from nuclear, biological or chemical mean is excluded

Return home
Up to $3,000 CAD for the cost of one-way economy transportation to your country of origin if the
covered injury or sickness necessitates your immediate return during the period of coverage.
Includes one additional insured family member

Accidental death & disablement
Up to the maximum aggregate limit selected at the time of application

Follow-up visits 
The follow-up 3times need approval by Allianz

Transportation of family or friend
Up to $3,000 CAD for round trip economic class transportation by most direct route, and up to $1,000 CAD for reasonable cost incurred after arrival by family member or close friend

Up to $500 CAD a day, to a maximum of $500 CAD for an attendant (not related to you) to care for your accompanying insured traveling companions (under age 18, or physically or mentally handicapped), if you are hospitalized as the result of an emergency for 48 hours or more


In the event of the medical emergency, Allianz must be notified prior to any surgery being performed or within 24 hours of admission to a hospital.

If you fail to notify Allianz, without reasonable cause, it will result in the reduction of eligible benefit amounts payable by 20%.

Claim must be reported within 30 days of occurrence

Written proof of claim must be submitted within 90 days of occurrence
